the series deals with a a very large number of darker themes mostly shown through the 'other world' and monsters heather faces. these events remind her of her past-self alessa, who was a victim of child abuse, extreme bullying, parental neglect. her mother essentially tormented alessa to make her body and soul filled with anger and to be the perfect vessel to birth the new god. as part of a ritual to impregnate her with the god, she did a magical spell that set alessa on fire and left her close to death. as heather, the series hyper-focuses on the lack of self-autonomy over her body [how she is just viewed as a machine to birth god], the hypersexuality teenagers and women face, and a lot of trauma caused by religious dogma. I won't really be mentioning this a lot in threads but it may come up in the form of her thoughts/motivations behind certain actions. if you'd prefer to not interact with this character at all, please comment below! comments are screened.
