Considering he died once in part to protect you, and then just recently expressed to me that he couldn't imagine "harm coming to you" but was going to ensure he could mitigate the cost of death for you in case it did, I find myself wondering why he's so invested.

Whatever my personal feelings for Mr. Smith, he is a person and he deserves the respect of one. We all contain multitudes.
